Since 2009 Andrea Cortesi and Marco Venturi, have been travelling companions on a fascinating musical journey.

The duo’s repertoire ranges from Bach to modern composers, with the constant research for the ideal sound.

The first recording experiences and concerts have revealed two brilliant musicians with a strong personality, technical command and a human touch.

The first two CDs published, ‘Lontanissimo’ (‘Far away’) and ‘La Macchina del Tempo’ (‘The Time Machine’), with music by BeethovenSilvestrovSchnittkePärt and Piazzolla, even in the titles evoke the soul of the duo: the idea of a perfection wich is impossible to reach that becomes a creative driving force, and then the relationship with time, where each piece becomes a window towards a past that comes back to life in the instant of the performance.

Open-minded, self-critical, ironic and passionate, their two different souls, ready to dialogue in the spontaneity of the performance, express a vital sound and offer interpretations that are both full of balance and bite.

The international recording debut of the CD for BRILLIANT CLASSICS, with the second world recording of the Sonata for Violin by Philip Glass, ‘Time…and again’ by Giya Kancheli and ‘Conversio’ by Erkki-Sven Tüür, rewards them for the results obtained with the first two albums.

The CD has received good reviews, placing the duo in the international arena.

The duo’s fourth CD and second recording for Brilliant Classics contains the three violin Sonatas by Robert Schumann.

The collaboration with georgian composer Giya Kancheli gives life during 2016 to an extraordinary album, containing the world premiere recording of the MINIATURES FOR VOLIN AND PIANO, a cycle of short pieces taken from Cinema and Theatre.

SEI‘ (‘SIX’) is their sixth recording project, but also an affirmation and a reflection of ‘being’. (‘sei’ in italian means also ‘you are’). A project that turns out to be an important change of direction, because it inaugurates the ARMIDA RECORDS label, and further consolidates the partnership with the sound engineer Luca Ricci.

SEI has a new and freer approach with the idea of ‘album’, in line with what discography is today.
