Daniela Novaretto was born in La Spezia (Italy) in 1970, where she began studying piano at the local Conservatory. She subsequently completed her studies at the «G. Verdi» Conservatory in Milan where she graduated with full marks in 1994 obtaining her Concert Diploma under the direction of Maestro Giovanni Carmassi. She continued her studies with Maestro Franco Scala in Imola (International Piano Academy “ Incontri col Maestro”) where, since 1994, she attended the seminars held at the Academy by A. Lonquich, L. Lortie, G. Wilson, J. Jasinsky, L. Berman and C. Bogino.
She also specialized in chamber music with: Maestro Franco Rossi (Sesto Fiorentino Academy in ’96), Maestro Pier Narciso Masi (full marks degree at Imola Academy in ‘99) and Maestro Rocco Filippini (Stauffer Academy in Cremona in 2000). In 2008 she received her Master’s degree “summa cum laude” in musical disciplines (with specialization as soloist performer) from “B. Maderna” Conservatory in Cesena. There, she began to study as a conductor, initially (2006-2008) with Maestro Giovanni Bartoli and then (2008- 2010) with Maestro Piero Bellugi (pupil of Leonard Bernstein), in Florence.
Prize-winner in many national contests (“J.S.Bach Sestri Levante Genova 1987”, R.Schumann” Domodossola 1986”, “International music society of Mantova 1987”,“Concorso Città di Albenga 1988”, “Concorso di esecuzione musicale Viareggio Lucca 1987”, “Genova 2001 International music competitions”), Daniela Novaretto is very active, as both piano soloist and concertist, as featured guest of many Italian and international musical institutions such as: «La Scala» Theatre Museum (Milan), «Sala Verdi» (R.A.I. Music Hall in Milan), Masini Theatre (Faenza), Civic Theatre (La Spezia), «Pitti Palace» (Florence), “Guglielmi” Theatre (Massa Carrara), “Brancaccio” Theatre (Rome), Sala de Las Americas (Santiago de Chile), Theatre des Penitents (Ville de Gap, France), Auditorium Conservatori Municipal de Musica (Barcelona), Kirchgemeindehaus St. Johannes (Basel), Auditorium IIC San Francisco, Auditorium “ Oasis Senior Center” Newport Beach (Los Angeles).
She often performed as soloist with “Pomeriggi Musicali” Milan Orchestra and “ Domodossola Chamber Orchestra”. In 1995 she set up the «Martucci Duo» with Italian cellist Bianca Fervidi, with the purpose of rediscovering the Italian repertoire between the XIX and XX centuries. Thanks to this research work, «Martucci Duo» has been included in the project «Young Artists» of the D.G.R.C. of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to represent the Italian culture in the world. In 1999, «Martucci Duo» won second prize in the VII edition of the Chamber Music International contest at Pinerolo (Torino) , and in VII edition of the Chamber Music International “G. Zinetti” contest at Verona . In addition to her activity as concertist, Daniela Novaretto has taught piano for more than ten years and has collaborated for some years (2000 – 2003) as piano and chamber music teacher with Pier Narciso Masi at the Music Academies of Belluno, Sesto fiorentino (Florence), Fusignano (Ravenna), and Imola (Bologna). She presently (2004-2023) holds Master Classes in: Milan (School of music: “XXI century Ensemble” and School of Music “Albero della Musica”), Rome (School of Music “Clivis”), Florence (School of Music Sesto Fiorentino and School of Music “Francesco Landini”), Asti (Auditorium “S. Rocco” CellaMonte), La Spezia (Auditorium “W.P. Cochrane” Lerici). In October 2011 Green’s Productions published Daniela Novaretto’s first CD “Passional Piano”, featuring Spanish and Cuban piano music. In January 2021 she recorded a triple CD edition of L. Van Beethoven’s complete works for cello and piano with George Georgescu (ex solo cello at “Maggio Musicale Fiorentino” Orchestra) published by EMA VINCI.
